Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At Alouette Dental Centre, we use technology to assist with treatment planning and to make your dental appointments more efficient. We can display digital X-Rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms to show you any issues in your mouth and guide you through your treatment plan.

Our goal is to provide patients with efficient dental care, and ensure they are fully informed regarding their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this.

X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Instead of traditional photographic X-Ray film, digital X-Rays use digital sensors to produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, in addition to other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are invisible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

With panoramic X-Rays, your dentist can create a single flat image of your entire mouth, representing the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and nasal and sinus structures.

Panoramic X-Rays are commonly used to help plan treatments for braces, dentures, implants and extractions.

Dental Lasers

Lasers (extremely focused light beams) can be used in dentistry to perform a range of hard and soft tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to complete dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions. The dentists at Alouette Dental Centre, use lasers to remove decayed or overgrown tissue to harden dental restorations quickly, reshape gums or whiten teeth.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

Diseases and abnormalities in the mouth need early and effective treatment. To identify abnormalities such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions, our dentists use the VELscope® oral cancer screening device. Leveraging fluorescence visualization technology, your dentist can perform this check during routine exams under normal lighting conditions.

3D Scanner

Using an intraoral scanner, we can create digital dental impressions — an ideal alternative to traditional dental impressions which can be messy and time-consuming. An optical scanning wand is used to capture a digital image of your teeth within minutes and store data digitally. The Omnicam device allows your dentist to capture highly accurate 3D impressions of your bite, create digital replicas of your mouth's hard and soft tissues, create Invisalign clear aligners and plan your treatment in real-time.
